Simply Media, the Internet�s largest online television channel provider, have recently launched Snowzone.tv (www.snowzone.tv). IFSA MOURNS LOSS OF JOHN NICOLETTA...4-11-2008

It has been almost a week now since I returned home from Alaska. It is hard to absorb a blow as losing a fellow friend and free skier like we all did last week. A roller coaster of emotions over come me when I think about the entire season of our freeskiing events and journeys. Beautiful people in beautiful places. Inspiring individuals sharing exciting lives. when we live large lives like we sometimes do...Large things happen. The largest of things right now is the loss of John Nicoletta. Our prayers and sympathies go out to John's Parents and family and the friends he so enthusiastically shared his life with. His smile and spirit will be greatly missed and admired.

THE SALOMON EXTREME FREERIDE CHAMPIONSHIPS PREVAILS!

The Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships, hosted by Taos Ski Valley, came to a conclusion yesterday, Saturday the eighth of March. The steeps of twelve thousand five hundred foot Kachina peak were assaulted by athletes eager to prove their meddle and hopefully take home part of the ten thousand dollars cash prize.

Hello Friends,

After many e-mails and phone calls it's finally official. Grand Targhee will host the first annual Jr Freeski Competition on Peaked Ridge the weekend of March 21-23. The terrain in really amazing up there and it's been a huge snow year here with over 37 feet fallen thus far and a base of 119 inches!

This is going to be a really exciting event and the start to forming a N. American Jr Freeski tour. A event schedule, registration documents, and venue photos can be found at:

There is plenty of terrain in the here for both days of comp. We'll most likely be splitting the venue down the middle and using the lookers Right for the first day. When I finalize this I'll confirm with you all but in the meantime please spread the word and free up you schedules.

THE 2008 SUBARU SQUAW VALLEY FREESKIING OPEN

The second stop on the IFSA U.S Freeskiing tour concluded this past weekend at infamous Squaw Valley, USA, and for the second year in a row the competition went off flawlessly. �We couldn�t have asked for better conditions� Spoke head judge and IFSA president Jim Norm Jack, �The athletes reached new heights this past week, and I�m not just referring to their skill levels�. Indeed, the competitors sent themselves off very large jumps, managing to land back on their skis, most of the times.

BUT A THUNDEROUS BANG!

Telluride hosted the 2008 U.S. Freeskiing Open, and most gracious was their welcome. There was powder aplenty, the skies broke to bluebird conditions; even the rocks seemed a little gentler than usual. Then again, maybe it wasn�t the rocks, but the prowess and skills of the competitors, who softened the edges of those rocks.

TELLURIDE FREESKIING OPEN DAY 1 GOES OFF UNDER CLEAR SKIES AND POW!

Skiers had a bluebird, hotdogging day today on the "Rocky Ridge" during day one of Telluride's Freeskiing Open. Griffin Post took the lead with his always calculated, flowing moves! Heavy hitters and top locals are nipping at his heels in this very tight field. Crystal Wright's style and speed gave her the first run lead. Gleason,Whitney and Selig are all within a point.

Tomorrow's schedule includes two runs on the Mt. Quail to determine the champions!

Hi everyone! we kick off the first stop of the Subaru US Freeskiing Series on Friday with some of the biggest and best skiers in competitive freeskiing. Schmitty and i have been here since Tuesday and skied today on both venues. Conditions are primed with a lot of powder and some new zones added to last years venues. These events are more than competition. They are a pilgrimage to gather in amazing places and to share good times in the mountains together. schmitty and I want to share some of our journey with you. THE �COWBOY UP� JUNIOR FREESKIING CHALLENGE , Presented by the IFSA and STEVENS PASS SKI AREA will be a celebration of the continued popularity and growth of junior freeskiing events throughout North America.

Stevens Pass Ski Area in Washington State will host its first freeskiing event February 1-3, 2008. This event is for ages 14-17 and will showcase some of the best young freeskiers in the region as they ski for a shot at a National Championship in Big Mountain Freeskiing.

IFSA MOURNS LOSS OF BILLY POOLE.....INSPIRING FRIEND, COMPETITOR AND LIFE ENTHUS

The Freeskiing world lost a friend on Tuesday January 22nd when Billy Poole skied out of our world while negotiating a line in Wolverine Cirque in Utah's back country.

Billy was a past competitor in big mountain freeskiing and was an up and coming super star in ski films and will be remembered for his kind smile and contagious enthusiasm for skiing and the life he shared with so many. I will miss you Billy and we will not forget you. Your memory will resonate through the Wasatch and as the ravens soar the ridges so will your spirit...

From the IFSA and our large family of skiers and staff we send our deepest condolences to Billy's Family and all the friends in the Wasatch and beyond. Be well and at peace good friend.....
