Accessing Coach Certification Courses


2020-2021 FREERIDE COACH REQUIREMENTS
All coaches seeking access to competition venues and discounted lift tickets must comply with the following requirements

 

  1. Coaches MUST have current L100 or L200 IFSA Certification 
    (L100 certification is valid for 2 years, L200 certification is valid for 3 years)

  2. Coaches MUST have a 2021 IFSA Coach Membership 

  3. Coaches MUST register for any IFSA-sanctioned Freeride event they plan to attend on The Driven. Links will be posted on the corresponding IFSA Event Page. Given the safety concerns related to operating during the COVID-19 pandemic, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.



To purchase an IFSA Coach's membership, our Level 100 Coach's Training course must have been completed within the last two years, or the Level 200 course must have been completed within the last three years. Once you complete L100 or L200 training, a password will be provided to permit you to purchase an IFSA Coach membership. To locate the training course, see the information below. Accessing L100 Coach Certification

Step One: Access Schoology Registration

Step Two: Enter L100 Coach Certification Access Code -79VT-NNH5-5RTVR

Step Three: Register for Schoology

Step Four: Complete the training module. Please allow 24-48 hours for our volunteer staff to grade your coursework. After 24-48 hours, log back into Schoology and locate your passcode. Use the provided passcode to access IFSA Coach Membership and purchase or renew. 


L200 Coach Certification

  • Cost is $200 for an On-Snow clinic
  • Coach must have held L100 certification for 1 year
  • You must have a current IFSA Coach Membership
  • To earn L200 certification you must have current first aid and CPR training.
  • You must have completed a Level 1 Avalanche course.
  • You must complete the L200 online coursework (see below) and attend an On-Snow clinic.

Step One: You must have completed L100 certification to begin L200 training

Step Two: Access Schoology Registration 

Step Three: Enter L200 Coach Certification Access Code - V6GX-8W44-H394Q

Step Four: Login to Schoology

Step Five: Complete online coursework for L200 Certification

Step Six: Register for one of our L200 On-Snow Clinics below to complete certification. Registration links will be provided via email to coaches with active IFSA Memberships.


Accessing L100 Coach Certification For USASA Coaches

New for the 2021 season, IFSA has collaborated with USASA to offer a streamlined coaching course to allow USASA-certified coaches a way to efficiently convert their knowledge and skills to the IFSA Freeride Series. The L100 IFSA Coach Certification Course for USASA coaches will drill down into Freeride specifics and will allow USASA coaches to quickly join the IFSA Coach Community.

Step Three: Register for Schoology
